As a result of my tests i determined that the Amana Tool Colonial router bit was not up to PAR.The bit showed signs of wear after only a few uses, resulting in inconsistent cuts and poor quality. While the price was initially attractive, the lower quality ultimately made this bit a waste of money..
The problem with this bit is that the radius of the thin section is 3/8 inch which is smaller than the shank radius. The workpiece must have a top and bottom "edge" that aligns with the entry and exit guides. Multiple passes become impossible. A single pass in oversized material will result in the workpiece not registering on the output rail, causing vibrations that produce poor results. Apparently nobody at Amana has tested this bit.
