Most ball bearing shower rings are pear shaped and now I understand why. The ball head is heavier and ends at the bottom so the metal ring scratches the shower rail. Completely contradicts the purpose of ball bearings. Too bad I didn't go for the more common form.

Every morning I got up before The Nightmare in My Baby Bath, where the angry, grinding metal of our old rings dragged across the bar like claws on a furnace.
