The 50ft spool I received does not lay flat when unwinding, it rolls off the spool and does not straighten no matter how careful I wind it up or try to dissolve it. I don't know if that's typical of this product or not. Second, it looks like it's copper-coated aluminum. I assumed it was copper - my fault.

Everything is fine, but it hurts to undress. I have a great wire stripper, but no matter how careful I am, I break at least 5 strands. Many times I had to use too much force to tighten the rubber and it just snapped all the wires. This got the speaker cable under the nail. Please be careful. But that's a lot of wire for a good price.

I hooked it up from a 2 channel amp to a set of component speakers at 150 watts RMS per channel and it handles the power just fine. I would recommend upgrading all stereo cables to 14 gauge if you are drawing more than 75 watts RMS as this will deliver more power than flimsy standard cables. The wire has good insulation and the black stripe along the negative wire was a great addition. Overall great quality and price, I would definitely buy again.

This is not pure copper but CCA (Copper Clad Aluminum). However, if your audio system doesn't cost more than your car, it will offer superior performance and save you a decent amount of money. I use it over relatively short distances to connect to my surround speakers and it works just as well as the copper cable I use with other speakers. The sheath is thick but retains decent flexibility for a 14g wire. No problem with stripping wire ends for connections. Great value for money.
