Okay, that's definitely a good cable. Inside, however, were white plugs with copper ends sticking out. They were probably meant to protect the inside, but they were stuck and I had no idea what they were. Imagine something like a washing machine. He had to be ripped out. I don't have much experience with coax, but none of the ones I've worked with didn't have these washers. So it took me a few minutes to figure it out. Just a warning for the next newbie trying to screw it up. Oh and I…

DEFINITELY DO NOT BUY!

Just received this cable with easy to use tool-less connectors. Guess what. These are standard connectors with a plastic grommet over them so you can't get any leverage in the right place IF they get stuck. I just ripped out the entire cable connection on the back of my HDTV because the "tool-less connector" got stuck and took the connection with it when I tried to unscrew it. THIS cable is WORSE than standard cable and just robbed me of an important feature of my TV. The only good thing I can…

Everything is fine except for the DUMB PLASTIC CASE!

Great value, great signal over 25 feet, no noticeable electrical or electronic interference. But those black plastic caps with useless white plastic inserts and NO WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS can drive you nuts. If you try to pull on them, they will resist, making you think you're going to break the cable, but you won't. *** TIGHTEN THEM. THEY DISCONNECT.*** You can then discard both the black and white pieces. They do not fulfill their intended purpose, as a hand-tight screw is sufficient for a…

Nice replacement cable!

So far, so good! I bought this cable to replace the short one that came with my new modem. This cable from RevainBasics makes it possible. I was a bit irritated by the small white plugs/connectors on the ends of the cable. I had to use a flat head screwdriver to pry them out but it worked fine. User error and I felt a little silly when I figured it out. Some of the instructions may be helpful for those of us who have never bought coax cable before. It's not as stiff as some coax cables. The…

Great replacement for the old coaxial cable

This thing is amazing! I replaced an old 12 foot (3-5+ year old?) coaxial cable for my cable modem and it greatly improved the signal levels (SNR and power) and reduced the correctable/uncorrectable to 0! The old coaxial cable had corrosion and other debris in the connectors. I encourage people to swap out their old coax with newer, decent ones like the $8 Revain Basics to see if that helps with troubleshooting. My connection and download speeds are now very stable (90Mbps drop from speed test,

Here's a little trick for plastic lids.

Excellent cable, solid construction. The core is hard but has a good amount of flexibility. I bought this because I upgraded my internet speed to gigabit and the ISP rep said the cables in the house are old and need replacing. You were right. However, my ISP charged $54.95 to send a technician to replace the cables. Yes, that doesn't happen. I spent less than $20 on new cables from the wall to my modem and some fancy right angle adapters to keep the coax from bending too much. The speed…

Nice but hard to get paste.

A very good cable to judge by its appearance. I plugged it in and it seems to be working fine. The only problem with this cable is that it comes with a plastic insert, I believe it's to protect the threads and the small pin. However, the plastic insert is flat, with only a pin protruding from the middle. At first I thought I had an odd cable, but after much trial and error I used a knife to pry out the plastic protector, which was no easy task. On the second, the pin was slightly bent in the…

It's a coaxial cable but poorly constructed

You only need one cable, right? Easy, cheap, easy. Don't do much wrong. Well, ultimately it does the job and seems to carry the signal quite well. But he has two problems. First, there are small plastic plugs in the wells. You cannot use the cable until you have removed the caps as they will block where the connector/connector screws in. And there's nothing on the caps that would make this task any easier. The only way I could find was to slide the knife under the cap, finish the edges and…
