Using this product, our team found that the lid does not close smoothly and makes a loud slamming noise, defeating the purpose of "soft close". The can is also smaller than expected, requiring more frequent emptying.

Garbage is expensive considering we throw it in shiny shiny bins. I needed a lid for the trash can in our living room because the dog loved the napkins. So it works well and keeps them off the glass. The top part of this glass does not come off, so the dog cannot knock it over and hit the system. It wasn't the cheapest, just what we needed.

So that the basket looks good: brushed stainless steel in a simple design. I like the way it looks. But that's all. You get what you paid for. Overall, the trash can is NOT working YET. The body itself is very thin. The overall construction (hinges, steps) is flimsy at best. When you step on the little stepper, the trash can will shake. The lid doesn't close all the way: I'll be using it in the kitchen so I'm not sure how much smell will leak through. All in all, it's hardly a functional…
