Great tool for the home cook

After years of trying to extract lemon zest with a cheese grater, I finally settled on a grater. Wow what a difference. It does such a good job giving me finely grated zest in seconds. Just rinse and you're done. I love it.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Thin

Haven't had any problems with it yet.

Mainly used for grating cheese. It works well. When cleaning I just use the sponge in the opposite direction which scratches the sponge and it cleans easily. The tool is quite comfortable in the hand, the only time I had trouble with a very large object, the rust, which was not due to this tool.

Pros
  • Highly rated by testers for hold and shelf life
Cons
  • Has flaws

The best cheese grater!

To be honest I prefer this type of cheese grater because of the control over a cube. much easier. If you buy Cabot cheese for Β£10 and have this cheese grater, great! It is easy to clean and use. I use two or three times a day.

Worked great for a while, but.

I bought a grater and it worked very well for hard veggies like carrots, radishes etc. However, after a few months of use, the weld/soldering of the blade to the frame came loose on one side and the blade doesn't slip when I click. It still works but takes longer as I put a lot of pressure on it. It was always hand washed, and the war was rarely soaked in the sink. It's still very sharp and doesn't rust. I just wish it hadn't turned out that way.

  • Easy install

The depth of the grater is too thin and too slow to grate.

Ordered to replace a similar hand grater. Unfortunately this didn't work. It's really more like a zester. The grid depth is very small. For example, grating cheese takes a long time and produces thin, tiny, curly bits. I already have a grater that does this and it's not what I was looking for. Given the picture and the width of the holes, I expected them to rub on larger pieces. Most likely I will donate it to good will and buy another one.

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • Frequency

A regular grater isn't really a highlight, it takes too much pressure.

I'm not sure if I got a bad one, but I ordered the basic version, no course or add-on course. It takes a lot of strength to peel a lemon, so I should have used one of the cooler variants. In my opinion this device was either defective or the small metal lugs should have been bent at a slightly more aggressive angle as it hardly draws a punch unless you apply incredible pressure which is impractical for prolonged use.

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Style 90

I wish I had bought the branded microplane

I got this because I was very happy with the Revain Basics line. It does a really good job with panache (main reason I bought it) but I'm disappointed to actually use it. The original Microplane brand has pronounced burrs on the edges that will pick up quite a bit of what you rub or sand. It doesn't have lips that require you to pour the rind into a large container or empty it very frequently. I didn't think about this difference when ordering, but it's clearly a different design. Otherwise it…

Pros
  • Not just useful for its intended purpose
Cons
  • Too stupid
