I got this because I was very happy with the Revain Basics line. It does a really good job with panache (main reason I bought it) but I'm disappointed to actually use it. The original Microplane brand has pronounced burrs on the edges that will pick up quite a bit of what you rub or sand. It doesn't have lips that require you to pour the rind into a large container or empty it very frequently. I didn't think about this difference when ordering, but it's clearly a different design. Otherwise it seems to be working fine. The handle is comfortable and rubs fine enough.
