American Metalcraft GR1435 Stemware Display Review

I finally hung this wine rack above my bar. I was a bit disappointed that it didn't fit my red wine glasses because the bottom didn't fit in the slats. But otherwise it looks great and is a nice focal point for my bar counter.

Looks good and very strong. Instead of hanging it from the ceiling I installed it under the closet, now it looks built in. I had to cut 2 inches off the width to fit under the cabinet, but I'm fine with that. I've heard many compliments on my home bar and everyone thought this wine glass rack was built into it.

The holders were too close together to fit a normal sized wine glass. My husband had to disassemble the entire rack, remove one, arrange it properly, and reassemble it. Also, the chains that came with it were so cheap they looked like costume jewelry. Before installation I had to buy new chains. Now I like the rack but only with the changes we had to make. Definitely not worth the price we paid.

The bottom of the glasses should be small. Sounds like a flute or small glasses will do. None of our glasses fit (we have three sizes). Plus, the gold chain it's held on looks (and is) cheap. It is made of plain pine wood heavily stained with paint. For the price I was expecting a better quality of wood and at least a more flexible design to accommodate a regular wine glass. I ordered one of these and I liked it so much that I immediately ordered the exact same frame again so I could hang them side by side. The second shelf was wood of a completely different color and to make matters worse the second shelf seems to be closer so some of my wine and champagne glasses that fit on the first shelf don't fit on the second shelf fit. So when this package arrived it was in a long and narrow box. The box went through the bell and showed external damage. The actual piece inside suffered somewhat from this misdelivery and had dents on the wood. Luckily it was on the top and not visible after installation. Now the real product was easy to install with a couple of hooks (not included) and looks great when hung. Although I don't usually write reviews, I had to rate this item. Although a bit pricey for its size, I thought it would make a nice addition to our wine room. When it arrived I was very disappointed to see how poor the quality was. The wood is very cheap and rough, the ends are unfinished and the construction is abysmal - not a single glass rail is screwed evenly! Great stand for the price. If you have champagne flutes or wine glasses with a below average base this is a good buy and will hold a lot of glasses. If you are willing to work on the rack, you can also use it on medium-sized bases. I chose this wine rack based on price, size and because none of the reviews mentioned a problem with the wine rack. glasses on the shelf.
