Half MDF, half natural wood, durable and very easy to assemble, the surface is easy to clean. I bought two of these in separate orders and the second had a misaligned pin. This only happens with DIY furniture and you don't have to worry. I left it and it's just as durable as the other one. This is a great accent, and not just for the price! I bought this product expecting a nice bedside table. Instead, I received a table with damaged wood, discolored parts, a drawer that didn't fit flush, and unusable screws/locks/dowels. I have seen many reviews and pictures that led me to believe that they are poorly designed or that the parts do not fit together properly and do not work or look good.
