Well designed product

The step was fairly easy to install. It is recommended to tighten the screws on the sub-assembly before installing it on the truck. I was under the impression from the instructions that they wanted you to tighten everything after installation, but with the Tacoma I found that some of the bolts were not available after installation on the truck. Otherwise it's a great product, very durable. I weigh a little over 200 pounds and it held my weight with no problem.

Cheap, thin, made in China, and can be installed by yourself

First, it is almost impossible to install without two people and professional mechanical tools, second, once installed, it is the most flimsy step I had. If you've ever settled on it, it tends to the point where you'll fall for it, not just because it's cheap and chunky. I do not recommend anyone to spend a little more money and get a Toyota original.

I had to purchase a 3/8 torque wrench to tighten the mounting bolts to 66 ft.lbs. My Snapon 1/2 didn't fit in the holder.

Sturdy construction. Should last for many years. It took me about 1-1/2 hours to install. Because the bracket was not the one shown in the video. This is not a solid cast aluminum bracket as shown in the picture. These are two pieces of stamped steel. I couldn't line up the two screw holes that hold the bracket to the frame. The step works great and is made of very thick steel

The step works great and is made of very thick steel. However, if you want to avoid the frustration of installing this on a 2017 Toyota Tacoma Sport, I recommend the following procedures: 1. Install the bracket according to the instructions. Leave the screws loose.2. Locate and remove the factory screws on the frame used to attach the bracket.3. Insert the factory screws into the bracket mounting holes so that they align.4. Tighten all bracket screws.5. Mount the bracket to the truck frame.6…
