This is a top quality scratching board. I use this as part of my student demos. If I need more, I will order more without hesitation.

My art teacher recommended this brand of drawing board to me. You need the right tools, but in the end you can use this scratch board to scratch out a nice drawing. I've found that despite the recommendation to correct mistakes with a marker, tracing with traditional ink works best. I used the Bombay brand.

I use it often, it's one of my favorite painting methods, especially for animal portraits! You can use carbon paper to transfer the graphite designs to the board and then I use a few different tools including a simple pointed scratch tool as well as a multi needle point tool. Be sure to apply a thin coat of matte fixative to the finished parts to prevent further scratching.
