🔒 AMPLOCK U-TLS2: 2-Inch Boat Trailer Lock/Coupler Lock/RV Lock (Specific Fit for 2" Couplers) Review

The product arrived a day early, always a pleasant surprise. I have an AMPLock clutch and two AMPLock padlocks, so this concept is not new to me. I have great faith in the locking mechanism. These are no ordinary castles. You get what you pay for. Will you trust your $40,000 boat and trailer to a $25 lock? Not me.

Now I have peace of mind with this trailer lock. He is heavy and strong. I know thieves can pick locks, but this path is not easy. My trailer is currently sitting in my driveway and will be stored soon when not in use. Then I really need the security of a lock and I think it's a good option. It was easy to install and feels very secure!

I bought this for my utility trailer. The product is very well made and certainly designed for heavy use. I had the problem that mine didn't fit. This problem was that the thick paintwork prevented it from sliding far enough for the lock cylinder to close. With the help of a sander I was able to sand it enough to fit. For me as a mechanic, this was a 10 minute fix. I'm not sure anyone would do this instead of just going back. That's why it's 4 stars for me.

I like it. I put it on my trailer within 5 minutes of receiving it as I don't want to get robbed if this lock is available to me. As others have said, with more weight it is essential. Any attempt to win would take a thief with special tools a long time. Of course everything can break, but if you add a second layer of protection, e.g. B. a wheel lock, your protection is almost impenetrable. I will sleep better with this protection and feel like money well spent.

The usefulness of a tow bar is debatable. A determined thief can steal anything given enough time to work. But cheap locks can be picked in seconds with a grinder (check out YouTube if you don't believe me), but the Amplock U-TLS2 would have to be practically sawed in half, which would take quite a long time. a very noisy few minutes, and hopefully as much time as the would-be thief can afford before being spotted. Bought this for my caravan and am happy with it so far. Of course this is just a preventive measure as the thieves will still get my trailer if they really want it, but hopefully it will at least slow them down. It took a little practice to get the lock back in place. I had to move the receiver pin a bit to fully engage the locking mechanism. . I spent about five minutes figuring out how to install this on the hitch. Basically, this lock has a U-shaped piece that goes over the hitch, with a center bolt that slides up and fills in where the "ball" would normally go and snaps into place.
