. I spent about five minutes figuring out how to install this on the hitch. Basically, this lock has a U-shaped piece that goes over the hitch, with a center bolt that slides up and fills in where the "ball" would normally go and snaps into place. At first I couldn't get the middle screw. In order to slide upwards, it repeatedly hit the inside of the clutch at the front. I found that the U-thing wasn't fully seated on the hitch because it was grabbing part of the trailer's ball lock. The solution is that if you put your fingers just in front of the U-piece, you can easily lift the ball lock (which is part of the trailer, not this lock) and get it out of the way. This allows you to slide the U-piece all the way back so the bolt can easily engage.
