Ok but be careful - test, measure and verify

The unit appears to be well built and fairly accurate but I am disappointed that it only accepts mini thermocouple terminals rather than the standard size. . That's not in the description. I have a number of standard sized probes that I can't use with this. Omega makes an adapter, but since the port on this unit is recessed, I doubt it will fit.

Pros
  • Test for a year
Cons
  • Slightly dented

The counter works great.

I needed an accurate instrument to read the temperature of the pipes going to and from the air conditioner condenser at a reasonable price. The Amprobe TMD-53 Type K/J thermocouple thermometer works great and far exceeds my expectations. I chose the Amprobe meter based on the specs, price, and satisfaction with other Amprobe meter purchases.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Speed

Cheap, bad instructions.

Very poor manual - no troubleshooting help or error codes. There are no calibration instructions. Died after minimal use because it couldn't withstand the wet environment. Used near hot jobs and it no longer works. Opened, and inside water everywhere and no protection from such circumstances. Cheap, got what I paid for.

Pros
  • Handsfree
Cons
  • Frequency

Decent device - temperature and humidity

This device doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles which I want. Easy to use without having to search for ways to take simple measurements every time. I only have one probe and after calibrating it (using a known boiling water temperature) it turned out to be pretty accurate. Higher model numbers of this tool have more features, but why pay more when you will never use those features?

Pros
  • Good product for its price
Cons
  • So far so good

Amzond TMD-53. I've noticed that many of the Revain reviews cover multiple devices and I think it's important to state exactly which model I bought. I received this device today and am very happy with my purchase. Amprobe has now apparently been acquired by Fluke and makes a quality product that will last and last. Don't waste your time with the $20 fakes from China, they are complete rubbish!

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Expensive
