Works in a concrete house

I couldn't get AM on my receivers in my concrete block house in Florida. I installed this antenna and now I can listen to my favorite talk show. The AM signal isn't perfect, but I'm happy with my purchase.

Pros
  • cool product
Cons
  • poorly thought out

This is the type of antenna that comes with yours.

This type of antenna came with your fancy receiver and you found it looked too tacky and cheap to come with a name brand stereo. But you lost it or broke it and now you miss it because you desperately need AM signal. There's nothing fancy about this antenna, but it will do the job.

Pros
  • Sturdy finish
Cons
  • Some problems

There was minimal impact

Before I connected this antenna, my receiver was not receiving any AM signal at all. Once connected I get a very loud hiss and can faintly hear the station somewhere down there. I tried positioning the antenna in different positions with no noticeable effect. This product may work for some, but for me it's absolutely useless.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Too bad I had to pay 10€ to replace the item.

Too bad I had to pay $10 to replace the thing that came with every receiver for 20 years that everyone (including me) lost or threw away. I was able to get the strongest AM stations, that's all I tried. I'm in the middle of a big city so I thought I could get a lot more but maybe it's just that it's in the basement.

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • I will be silent

This is an AM antenna.

Look, this isn't a very good antenna, and if you can't get reception at all, don't expect much improvement. I think if you need the best antenna you need to choose an antenna that can help you and there are few better options. Given the cost and the fact that good AM requires a receiver with proper filtering options, you should use a GOOD portable set up for AM reception and set your tuner to use an unused input.

Pros
  • Fits most AV Receivers
Cons
  • disappears

waste of money. Best in radio antennas

Dude where's the reception? I scored like 5 channels and had annoyingly thin wires and the stand is ridiculous. Can we increase that by 10x? We go with a roof mount because we want reception, not gimmicks. I just want to hear InfWrs in the garage, all loud on the big radio. There's a war on for your sanity and apparently for your reception. Gave 2 stars because it showed something clearly enough but didn't even come close to hitting the full range of channels available.

Pros
  • with 2 bare wires
Cons
  • High price

Classic loop antenna

Many audio receivers do not have a built-in antenna. They often come with a loop antenna in the box, but if there isn't one or the original has been lost, this will work. All loop antennas are very similar, there are no magic loop antennas - if this one doesn't work, the others won't either. However, there are several variables. First is placement - if you have something blocking the signal, like a lot of metal in your building, a mountain range or whatever, you're out of luck. It may be…

Pros
  • Suitable for Yamaha, JVC, Sherwood, Pioneer, OENON, Panasonic, Onkyo Audio system AM antenna
Cons
  • Not as thick as other models
