Tempered glass for kitchen and dining room

Arrived yesterday. I put them in the dishwasher and one broke from the heat and water pressure. The other doesn't. We have several of these and I've never seen a tempered glass measuring cup break in the wash.

Pros
  • Always liked
Cons
  • Not for everyone

does not pour well in kitchen and dining room

Spout is too small to pour liquids out of without making a mess unless you pour the smallest trickle out of it. However, the marks didn't go away after a few washes in the dishwasher, so that's a good thing. But I think there are probably better measuring cups out there - I went cheap and you get what you pay for.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Easy serviceability

Danger! Explosive shards splashing glass everywhere

Less than a month later my wife tried to use a whisk to mix the vinegar and oil in this cup but it suddenly exploded with a big bang, shattering and scattering glass throughout the kitchen and adjoining dining room, living room and even down to the bedroom. The fragments easily injured her fingers; It's definitely not safety glass.

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Can't remember

Did not receive the product shown in the photo

Not satisfied. i am right handed I like the handle on the right side when filling with ingredients so I can fill and pour. In the picture it was shown with ounces on the preferred side and metric units on the other side. When it arrived I noticed that the opposite was true. I wouldn't order it with that configuration, but it's not worth the time and hassle to return it and re-order from a different supplier.

Pros
  • Very fast delivery
Cons
  • No color required

Better than pyrex light

I bought this after being disappointed with pyrex 1 cup. That's exactly what I need. It's tall and thin, making it easy to measure. It has a good spout that pours easily. The Pyrex 1 cup is now wide and flat making measurements difficult and the spout is terrible. This Anchor Hocking is spot on, which ironically is exactly the same as my old Pyrex 1 cup. This is the mug you are looking for.

Pros
  • quality construction
Cons
  • too stupid

Good for left-handers: kitchen and dining room

I chose this mug over another standard mug, Pyrex, because: 1. Cup sizes are listed on both sides. I'm left-handed, so I don't have to turn it over to read the measurements, which is what I use most.2. It's slightly narrower and taller than the Pyrex, so the difference between 1/3 and 1/2 cup, for example, is larger, making it easier to read. FYI I've seen a lot of reviews of how mugs are poured and I think this spout is ok.

Pros
  • All right!
Cons
  • No Insurance

Nice heavy measuring cup

I was disappointed that Pyrex didn't offer a thinner 1 cup measuring cup instead of a thicker one which didn't fit well in my cupboard. We then found this Anchor Hocking Cup at Revain and it arrived today. I was very pleased that the glass is tempered and heavier, the poor spout is better than pyrex, and there's even a cupboard cut-out at the top of the handle. I would like the handle to close and not open from the bottom, but that's secondary.

Pros
  • I hold my fists
Cons
  • Fits

I wish the Anchor Hocking would go back to a loop grip.

Anchor Shock is a good product. This measuring cup was intended to replace my old one which had the measuring marks removed over the years in the dishwasher. I mean over 40 years of use. Like other reviewers, I don't like the hook handle. I'll be scouring antique stores to see if I can find one of the old closed loop handle styles. The only reason I only have 3 stars. Works great in the microwave for melting butter or heating water, and the handle stays cool enough to be easily removed from the

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • For old

Wrong mug in the picture

This was the 4th time I've ordered this mug and the first 3 times it was just like the picture but the last one I received was very short , wide, squat, cheap , poor quality measuring cup with a ridiculous, inadequate tiny handle I can't even grasp, no measurement markings 1/3 cup and 2/3 cup - not the item I ordered in the photo, even though he said that this is an item I have bought 3 times before. The mug I just received does not have the Anchor Hocking logo and I cannot see this mug on the…

  • Only positive

  • poorly thought out
