Expected a clean and new customization. I have something full of foreign material that needed cleaning before installation. Edit: experience after trying to use. The threads on both sides were very rough and didn't reach the full thread engagement of a regular fitting at the local Big Box store. One page didn't even start. Completely useless

I thought there was a small nick on some of the threads that I could feel with my finger when it arrived, but it turned out to be a small hairline tear in the stitching through the threads. No, I didn't overtighten. The tear was there upon arrival. I know brass can be stripped and I haven't overdone it. One of the two parts will not be sealed. The defect appears to be an internal crack, a vertical and continuous thread on a connector and no I didn't overtighten initially but eventually tightened hoping it would seal. The crack is close and parallel to the cast line, but not quite on it. It does not spread (leak) outward through the pour, but simply flows along the threads. Such a high rejection rate for 2 randomly selected items indicates a problem in the product range. For me the problem is…
