Works great when changing from 3/4 " NPT to 1/2 " NPT coupling.

I have finished installing a home made propane distribution system with black pipes for my cabin. I had to adjust a gauge that fits 3/4" pipe to 1/2" pipe since all my pipes are 1/2". This brass fitting from Anderson Metals did the job. A few wraps of Teflon tape with some pipe lube and I had a leak free gauge that now fits my 1/2" pipe. The system holds the pressure so I'm happy with the design and the Anderson Metals pipe thread adapter. Knowing that the propane line is holding pressure, I…

low quality; Buy Parker 12-8 RB or VS209P-12-8 instead.

Poor quality. A 3/4" hex nut is just as bad as shown in the product image. Good luck finding a wrench on this really nasty site; often it's off 10 or maybe even 15 degrees from parallelism on the opposite side Get the equivalent from Parker, which in my experience today is always excellent quality - Parker part number 12-8 RB or VS209P-12-8 ( 3/4" MNPT to 1/2" FNPT). -SS is state of the art and therefore expensive; Parker Catalog Pressure Ratings of 2800, 4900 and 5200 psi for -B (Brass), -SS…

OK, but not perfect.

I've been using a lot of NPT brass fittings lately. After some experimentation I decided to use Anderson fittings whenever possible. I bought several of these in three different sizes and they all worked perfectly. This does not mean that the finish was perfect (it wasn't) or that the casting was perfectly centered (it wasn't). However, the threads on the fitting were well finished and met the NPT specification. I've had many fittings fail miserably over the past year because the threads…
