Cheap hardware and outdated software.

The DVR I received was broken right out of the box. Video playback has jagged vertical lines and is discolored. I know my cameras aren't the problem because they worked great on my old DVR which is 7 years old. I bought this new dash cam because I wanted the best app for remote viewing and playback. The direct connect and remote access applications for this DVR are almost identical to my old DVR which was a big disappointment. I should have known better than to buy the cheapest productโ€ฆ

Great security and surveillance solution

I bought this to replace the DVR that came with my KGuard security system. I've had this DVR for three years but have never been able to get the live feed to work so I can always look at my phone and see what's going on. It also detected motion and sent me an image, but about 60% of the images contained nothing. It sent an image that didn't show what triggered the motion detection. This one sends a batch of 3 images always showing what it's called. Anyway, I installed a 500GB SSD that doesn'tโ€ฆ

A cost effective system for you and your home or business. Make sure it's in a 70F location all year round and add a fan.

So far I have used this device. At first I was confused by the setting. looks good on VGA and seems to be taking some time to update via the remote control app. UPdate: 08/25/2018 I've only been using this device for seven months and it died, what does that tell you? above all. I opened it up and found that the heatsinks (CPU + RAM + ADAT chips) were burned in on the dried nasty white hard stuff. it worked fine until it got hot and went through reboots and never stopped. This would be good forโ€ฆ

remote display not possible; can't even see on local devices

This DVR suffers from several problems for me, although I know that others have made it work. Firstly, there is no official Android app for your phone on the Play Store. You need to change your settings to allow unknown third party applications. Secondly, the Anneke View app mentioned in the manual does not exist. There is Annke Vision but I can't get it to work. The user interface and instructions are on par with any CCTV DVR - absolutely terrible. How this industry will survive I will neverโ€ฆ

Great unit, easy to install, works well

I bought this unit when my 5 year old system died. I connected the old cameras at the back; I added a hard drive that I pulled from an old Dell computer that I no longer use; and in 20 minutes I was ready to go. The system works great with my iPad and my Google Pixel phone. And he only makes a wonderful record when there's movement. I was able to access my cameras quickly when traveling abroad and the playback system is also very good and very responsive. I watched my FedEx driver deliver theโ€ฆ

Many functions

I bought this DVR to replace a much more expensive Night Owl DVR which failed from day one. Annke has an amazing amount of features. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of features in the box and the ease of use. The user interface is much better than my original device and suddenly all the errors are gone from my system - just like that. I had a lot of disconnecting issues with my previous NO-Box, but after a few months this one became reliable. I had to restart my NO every few weeks andโ€ฆ

Amazing product! Replaced Zosi module but still use Zosi cameras!

So I bought this to replace my Zosi DVR with Revain that I bought here. No matter what I tried, I couldn't get the Zosi device to work on my PC, Android or IOS devices. I popped this Annke box in place, set it up with an IP, installed the Annke app, then the iVMS-4200 software for Windows and Viola - it works like a shot! It's been running for several months now. I removed the 2TB HD from the Zosi box and put it in this one. Annke reformatted it and off we went! I connected 8 cameras to it, the

Best Value Home Video Surveillance DVR

I tried other brands (I won't name them here) but they were just useless (couldn't stop hundreds of false alarms, detection errors, etc.). With this DVR I was able to eliminate almost every possible false alarm and still get 100% detection, real-time email/SMS alerts and event recording. The DVR records 30 seconds before and 30 seconds after the event and can send real-time email/text with multiple photos of the most relevant images from that period; which is pretty good at capturing what youโ€ฆ
