Not receiving on all channels

Not receiving on all radio channels. I didn't try to transmit because the antenna wasn't receiving and didn't want to damage the radio. Sent back for a refund. Wouldn't buy again

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • I'm worried

Improved RX and TX over stock antenna

Quick and easy installation. I checked reception with the original, then with the new one, improved reception, a clearer signal. Checked TX with both and improved the signal and clarity.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Very expensive

Great Quality!: CB & Radio Equipment

This is a much better quality than my retractable antenna. I confess I liked to fold it down so it doesn't take up space. It is of very good quality and I think my radio sounds clearer with it.

Pros
  • Quality Construction
Cons
  • Durable

Seems to work well: CB and Radio

Really hard to prove that something like this actually does what it's supposed to. I mean damn it's an antenna, that's all. I think if I talk to other radios with the original and then switch to this one it might tell me something. We'll see later.SR

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • Minor things

I should have gotten a real bare one

I took a chance with this antenna because the bare 771 is $20 and who wants to put a $20 antenna on top of a $25 Baofeng UV-5R? I thought "a cheap Chinese antenna for a cheap Chinese radio". makes sense right? but when i installed the luiton 771, my baofeng could not pick up any of the channels it has with the stock rubber duck antenna. I really did my best to make it work. I've disconnected and reconnected a few times, with and without the rubber grommet, but couldn't get any signals that all…

Good for the price of portable audio and video

Ehh. I hooked it up to my 70cm antenna analyzer, it showed an SWR of 1.4. However, the 2m band had an SWR of about 4 VERY BAD. He had an SWR of about 1.5. Unfortunately this is at 130MHz and the lowest (pictured) around 1.1 wasn't very usable at 430MHz. He advertises an SWR of 1.5 or better and he has it on 70cm, but 2m is absolute nonsense. My personal opinion? Well I've noticed a slight increase in performance and this is a very cheap antenna. A GOOD antenna isn't much more than that…

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Protection
