Solid Smart Surge capability

I bought 2 of these to automatically turn off my home theater equipment when not in use. I was comparing the APC model to Smartsurge products here, but chose APC because I've had good luck with their products in the past and there wasn't a huge $1 difference. I was dismayed when the packaging said they were only suitable for computers, but I've used them on devices with as little as 24 watts difference from standby to operating voltage (mostly audio amplifiers as the main outlet) with no…

Worked well on a Dell PC. No trouble.

The smart extension is a great idea. I walk around the house looking for appliances that draw power when not in use and check to see if they're turned off when they should be. This APC Power worked for the first time on my Dell computer. It has no adjustments at all, unlike the Smart Strip Smart Strip SCG3 Energy Saving Power Strip with Auto Switching Technology which I first bought and returned disappointed. This device has a small adjustment screw that I had to fiddle with a lot but still…

  • Pulse power: 420 J

Ideal for accessories and supplies

I am very satisfied with these two that I recently bought. The price was great and so far both work as advertised. I previously bought another brand and it broke after about five minutes so I returned it. Note: P7GT 7 is only recommended for computers and related devices. The instructions say that TVs vary too much in power consumption. However, I used one for my computer system; the other is connected to my panasonic plasma tv as the main control and the rest to various home theater components
