APK is great! for surge protector

This surge protector is a very profitable product. I really appreciate having an indicator that tells me if the device is still protecting my stuff. Once the surge protector absorbs enough surges, it stops working. Many more expensive surge protectors do not have an indicator light when they have finished their job and are no longer working.

Pros
  • trial period of one year
Cons
  • unreliable

Looks good but I wish it had a switch

I bought this to help my college son tidy up his desk at home. It's good enough for his desktop, but I'd like a power button so I can easily turn off any connected devices when he's not home. I know that "phantom" energy doesn't compare that well to things like an air conditioner or refrigerator, but I still wish my family would do their best to conserve energy wherever possible.

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Negative experience

Nice addition to Desktop Utility

Good solid base, brings organization and utility to my desktop. Has a decent weight so it doesn't slip easily. Haven't noticed any significant buzzing. Helps support my phone during video chats, didn't even know at the time of purchase. Allows me to charge USB devices, hide my phone within reach, and connect tools/devices while I'm busy at my desk. What's not to like? In the photo, I'm holding my phone, USB charging my earbuds, and charging a small cordless drill with an AC charger.

Expected more from APC

You'd think the venerable APC logo means something, but no, it's just another rebranded Chinese generic. Too light to have quality components, hum when tablet is charging, occasional sparks in (too narrow) NEMA connectors, more USB ports than can actually power it. The UL listing supposedly means it's safe, but the sparks and buzzing make me wonder if the manufacturer cut corners after receiving certification. Probably no worse than other manufacturers, but no better either. Too bad RAVPower…

  • Satisfied so far

Robust and reliable power strip and surge protector product

We live with daily blackouts, blackouts and surges. at least during the rainy season, which lasts 10 months a year. I've had tens of thousands of losses due to our public utility. I'm afraid to plug in anything without a surge protector (for good reason). We cannot protect our air conditioners, dehumidifiers or large appliances. The utility said we should have a whole house surge protector ($80,000). We didn't plan it when we bought the house. For the past few years I have used this surge…

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • boring packaging

I was so close to returning it as a piece of shit but I gave it another chance. Now it works fine. I first tried charging my Samsung Galaxy 6 with the original USB cable and it charged like a snail. I replaced the USB cable with a standard cable and it charges much faster. I'm talking about 1%/10min vs. 1%/1min. I'm not sure if it's because the cable that came with my phone is for USB 3.0. I like how it has that kickstand area, but haven't really used it. It's a handy place to put my Kindle…

Pros
  • Multiple competitors
Cons

Looks good, but USB ports hum when charging!

This is a cute little device that sits on my bedside table and charges my devices. The 3 USB ports allow me to keep multiple USB cables plugged in, and the upstairs outlets are good for charging other devices. Unlike most extension cords, this one looks good enough to be placed on a desk or bedside table. One downside is that there are no mounting holes on the back, so you can't mount it vertically. It looks like the slot is meant to act as a stand for a phone or tablet, but I didn't find it…

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
