    Readings everywhere

    I have lab results to compare to the accuracy of this pH pen and let me tell you it's still a long way to go. It's easy and quick to calibrate, and that's the only thing it has. I test a soil suspension sample for ph, it always shows the same value no matter where the sample is taken. Lab results say 7.6, this pH meter says 9.4. Please, my tomatoes disagree. I test with distilled water, 6.3. No, it is actually 7.0. Then I decide to backfill with peat mud pH 3.9. The counter shows 5.3. So if…

    Pretty cool for my aquariums

    I use this for several aquariums. Received yesterday, got some distilled water today to rinse the probe and opened the storage box with the pen. Please note that the package I ordered included the pen, storage solution, calibration solution and extra batteries. What, I'm glad I realized it was the extra batteries before trying to open the handle to install them, I still don't know how to open the handle. But I'm glad to know that the batteries and probe can be replaced. My first impression of…

    Very professional counter. I'm not sure why it's not a lot more money.

    I have absolutely no idea how I lived without this pH meter. I just used older tech or the cheap yellow gauges you see everywhere (which is sometimes good for telling the difference between lemon juice and drain cleaner). I knew this one would be better, but I didn't know how much better. Wow. I see a change in pH when I add 1 µL of acid or base. I no longer have to stick a stupid yellow pen or giant 1980's pH meter into a solution, go for coffee, add a reagent, drink more coffee, see if the…

    but it is very quick and easy

    Worth the Money This is definitely a lot more than the cheaper models you can find on ebay (only $10!). It has 1 point calibration which was the main reason I bought it. Calibration is required at least every other use, but it is very quick and easy to do. I've found that the readings tend to vary by 0.1-0.2 pH, especially with liquids that generally "foam" (I use this mostly for canned fruit). I usually take 5 or 6 measurements and choose the one that works best. These are delicate instruments
