Works well so far, but let's look at the price vs. factory

First time with this filter. So far this has worked great. They say to change every two months. It can be a bit expensive so hopefully after two months it will work great and not be a waste of money.

Goodbye Stove Parts & Accessories Allergies

We had a standard Airton filter in our Carrier heating and air conditioning system. My wife is allergic and it doesn't matter if she is indoors or outdoors. I ordered an Aprilaire 216 replacement filter and what is the difference. My wife enjoys being at home without feeling the side effects of allergies. We are selling a replacement Aprilaire 216 filter.

Excellent filtration

I upgraded the Merv-13 to the Merv-16 to filter more contaminants from the air. It's an annual replacement at least, but I weighed the difference between the old 213s I removed and the new 216s. The difference was 3 pounds. That tells me that maybe it should be changed every 6 months. 216 also helped get rid of the smell that appeared after replacing the system.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Minor issues

This is Aprilaire's problem not the seller's as the box was in perfect condition but the folds of the 216 filter were deformed after removing and installing, I could not straighten them . My concern is that the air intake will take the path of least resistance and bypass what is supposed to be airtight, defeating the whole purpose of this allergy and asthma filter.

Pros
  • Great for a small house
Cons
  • Zero

This filter is a real find. I am an environmental scientist with training as an industrial and occupational physician. I have an active particle counter that I put on the register when my house was smoked up due to an incident in the kitchen. This filter literally removes 100% of PM 10, PM 2.5 and PM 1.0 from the air. The air entered at about 200 units. PM 1.0 but going to 0. Nada. No leaks in the filter box and very easy installation. The "self-sealing" design actually works somehow. This…

Very efficient filtration

COVID-19 is upon us and many of us are now spending most of our time at home rather than outside. This antivirus filter "216" noticeably changes the air quality in our home. Children have fewer breathing problems, and while the system is running, the smoke they create while cooking their own food appears to be less trapped than with previous, less powerful filters. I haven't noticed any reduction in heating/cooling efficiency, significant billing changes, increased repair costs, etc. Does it…

Pros
  • Oven filter
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Don't waste your money!

I've been buying a regular 210 Aprilaire filter since I installed the filtration system with the new HVAC. I was seeing MORE dust than using a regular breather filter monthly so I decided to buy the best they had for a whopping $100. It lasts 6 months so I installed two days ago and FIRST cleaned all the dust on the floor and also on the furniture. I just wiped all the floors with a rag (disposable) and I got MORE dust than before using the same method. Run Swiffer two days after cleaning with…

I can't believe I paid 90 shells for a filter!

Will update review asap. I haven't even received this filter yet, but I already regret it. I just summarize. It's a $90 replacement air filter that needs to be replaced every 6 months. This is one of the most expensive disposables I've ever bought. I typically vacuum a regular fabric filter 213 times a year and expose it to UV-C light to kill all the little buggers. They last about 5 years if I do this. This 216 filter has to be the best filter I've seen for the money. HELLO APRIL. IT'S BETTER…
