UPDATE: I bought this filter on February 2nd, 2018 and started using it two days later after delivery. I only changed the filter cartridge once which resulted in having to turn off the filter. After cleaning the pot (which was minimally dirty) and putting a clean cartridge in the filter, I plugged it in and it stopped working. I've only had him for two months. Definitely another major update to the Aqua-Tech 30-60 filter range. Aqua-Tech is definitely good at updating their lines every few years to incorporate something new and keep their filters top-notch. I've had several of these over the years and they still work. I have one from the late 90's that still works and works great. Just clean them from time to time and they will always work perfectly. We recently purchased a 75 gallon Marineland aquarium. Unfortunately, our expensive HOB filter was too narrow to fit over the lip of the new tank. Aqua Tech is expanding its reach with its aquarium products. This new filter does not disappoint. I use this in a 29 gallon community tank with armored catfish, tetras and dwarf cichlids. The residents are not bothered by the suction and they cope well with the undercurrent. The filter cleaned my aquarium in 6 hours after my old filter broke.
