Another crappy thing from China

All three used days when I received them. One stopped working two days ago. tried the battery. Bought more batteries. nothing helped, the thermometer was made. Today the second one stopped working, I tried the same one. Change the batteries first with the supplied spare batteries and then with the new energizer. still does not work. This was my second purchase of these thermometers. the first 3 died in about 4 months. I understand they are cheap. would not recommend it to anyone. Save money. I…

  • Wide temperature range: Measures from -58°F to +158°F (from -50°C to +70°C) with an accuracy of +/- 1°C
Cons
  • Slightly torn

UPDATED REVIEW. again.

UPDATE 2: The seller responded promptly and sent a replacement. I'll check the other two at the same time for redundancy and use an analog thermometer to see if the temperatures differ. UPDATE 1: The water heater has failed and I decided to check the thermometer as well. The thermometer used reads 52.8 degrees compared to two previously unused thermometers (72.8, 72.9) bought as spares. It is in fresh water with no mineral deposits or probe/cable damage. Replaced the battery and no improvement.

Pros
  • EASY INSTALLATION: The suction cup submersible probe is easy to install in water (submersible probe only, do not immerse thermometer in water); Press "PWR" for 3 seconds to turn off
Cons
  • . I don't remember

Very handy and fairly accurate (see below)

55 gal and 22 gal. They are very convenient and I check them every day by using take the display off the suction cup so I don't have to bend down to look at the readings. One day I had some concerns when one of them was quite low (turns out that was the low temperature I had my home thermostat set to at night) and I read reviews of aquarium thermometers. There were people talking about no calibration and big variations within this product line so I bought three more plus a slightly more…

Pros
  • Free extra LR44: 2 PCS LR44 button cells for each thermometer (one working, one spare)
