So far so good - fish and aquatic animals

I am trying this for my betta fin rot. I've heard a lot of good things about aquarium salt. I have plants and snails in my tank, so I'll add less salt until all critters are fine!* Be sure to add more salt only after a water change. Salt does not evaporate! I'll let you know when my cock gets better.

Almost killed my fish

Purchased this product to help my betta with fin rot. Use the recommended dosage in a clean aquarium. He had been a great swimmer the night before and was as angry as ever. I woke up this morning and he was lying on the bottom of the tank trying to breathe and barely moving. I immediately put him in another tank with clean water without salt and he got better. I throw away this garbage.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Not bad but...

So this size was perfect for our needs

Small container of aquarium salt as described. Not all people agree on its necessity or use. We felt it necessary for the tank, or ordered it that way. It arrived quickly, as pictured and as expected. We didn't need to use it too often so this size was perfect for our needs. The actual size of the container (if you want a picture) is about the size of two small school size milk cartons stacked on top of each other.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Some nuances

Worth it for sick fish

I know there is a lot of controversy about using salt in freshwater but I really like it. My betta has been ill (lethargic, not eating, not swimming) for the past 2 weeks. I have a 2.5 liter tank. I put in slightly less than the recommended amount (2 gallons of salt). That same night my fish became more active and swam to feed. He is eating and has become more active since I added the salt 3 days ago. He still has something with his eyes so I ordered a cure for it but the salt really helped his
