Works as intended! for protective gear

I don't know why you are reading this but it works exactly as you think it does! It adds a bit more wind noise, and when it's fully up and moving faster than, say, 80, you can feel it jerking your head around a bit. BUT it's worth noting that this is less of a tug than the initial feel of other helmets. The helmet is cute and the visor only adds to that!

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Safety

That thing must be fake. DO NOT BUY! Big air leaks

Too bad I didn't put it sooner. I waited for the time of year when I would ride in the light and dark hours of the day to put it on. It doesn't seal properly at all. It makes my $800 Arai helmet feel like $100 junk. You can feel all the wind on your face. It's almost like wearing an open face. Of course I don't have the 80€ for this, since they are no longer returned, but I would like to warn others against buying them. I've never had such a strong wind with a visor. My eyes watered from the…

It's a compromise - runs a little small, vents are an afterthought

So your Arai helmet comes with a fairly smooth visor that both fits the helmet well around the edges and snaps up and down. This visor, although marked as an original Arai component, does not fit as securely. The visor can be raised from the down position without first pressing the latch (Corsair X) and the transition positions are "softer". Your original Arai helmet comes with a drawbridge that closes and opens securely. This canopy has an up and down sliding door mechanism that often turns…

Useful kludge in helmet flares

So it works as expected. Will it work for you? Walk on the highway at normal speed, put your hand on the helmet when the wind tries to blow off your hand, you may not like the tinted part in the top position. My bike has a reasonably good windshield and I'm pretty happy with it, and considering the Arai doesn't have a tinted inner visor and you can't get a photochromic visor for my Signet X, that works well enough. Critique: Use the small bottle of lube that comes with the kit on the slots to…

Accessory must be!

I like my Arai (Signet X) helmet but I don't like that they don't offer a photochromic screen for it. Having received this shield and driven it several thousand miles, I do not pass up the opportunity. The biggest benefit for me is that when the sun is overhead or I'm walking in the shade, I can lift the screen (easily with one hand) for a perfectly clear, unshaded view. It works like the top of the adventure helmets. Protects the eyes but does not change the color of your surroundings. It…

additional wind noise, picks up wind at high speeds

Love the functionality but if like me you commute to work on a sunny day this is perfect. But I also drive home at night when things aren't going so perfectly. But it could still be for you. The bike is a Yamaha MT-10 and he loves fast cruising. This visor is perfect for any purpose at or below 75mph. But I often find myself going a little faster. At any speed you can expect some additional wind noise, but at higher speeds the visor picks up the wind as expected. I rated it 4 stars because I…
