Description of π§ Klein Tools 31906 - Arbor 16 Inch
For use with Klein hole saws 1-3/8-Inch to 6-3/8-Inch (35 mm to 162 mm). Pins lock the saw to prevent over-tightening. Hardened mandrel for long thread life. Fast and easy to engage and disengage hole saw. Steel construction for added durability.
Literally locked after one use in 1/8" thick PVC. A metal vise and massive wrench could not pull it off. Destroyed the shaft, attempted to disassemble it and threw it in the trash.
I have this mandrel with a 1 3 /8" Bought the Klein Hole Saw about a month and a half ago. Today I had the opportunity to use it for the first time to drill a hole in sheet steel less than 1/16" thick. The board broke immediately So I had to rush to Menards to buy another one that would allow me to make a hole in seconds.I've never bought a Klein tool so I'm not sure if this is typical Klein quality or if I just have a defective one Unfortunately it's been a month so I can't return to Revain.
Pros
For use with small hole saws from 1-3/8" to 6-3/8" (35mm to 162mm)
I have a Morse and Milwaukee arbor that is much heavier than this one. I ordered a mandrel for use with a 6" countersunk can hole saw. After cutting through the pesky 3/4" cypress, the hole saw tightened the pins that didn't fit exactly so I couldn't loosen the ring and I use large channel locks had to release enough tension to remove the hole saw. This pergola may only work for drywall, but if you are planning a pergola that will last more than a small project or two then this is not for you.
