🔌 Enhanced Arduino Motor Shield REV3 for Optimal Motor Control [A000079] Review

I used this product to create a project and it worked the first time. I'm not very tech savvy so it was great to have a product that worked as it should.

Shipping takes longer. Half the driving experience of the competition and more expensive. Although it comes with a bottom transparent cover. Also, you don't need to install the library as it is pre-programmed into the IDE. My favorite part was the Arduino sticker, maybe they should just try selling them.

My son needed this along with an Arduino board for engineering class. It was an original product, made in Italy and it worked well. Please confirm you are buying the original Arduino because there have been many comments that buyers of other Arduino parts are made in China. Radio Shack also offers this line, but at a higher price for some items, which is normal when the product is made in Italy. Was happy with the motor shield.

and it works great. I know there are cheap clones out there, but sometimes you just want the "real deal" when doing the first project that is part of a "not cheap" project like a model railroad. :-) I would give 5 stars if they lowered the price a bit closer to the clones. I'll probably try a clone next time now that I know what I'm doing with DCC++.

This is an official Arduino product (so of course as you would expect). But official Arduino products are too expensive. And there are equivalent (and in many cases better) clones for everything (including this one). For often much less. I only bought the original Arduino because I was new. Never again. Better and cheaper (for example) are the DRV8833 motor driver boards (which are readily available, although perhaps not as easy to use).

I used this motor to control a wiper motor in one of my Arduino projects. It worked fine, the only thing to be careful with is heat. I pumped about 4 amps of current through this guy and you could boil an egg on it. However, I looked at the L298 motor driver datasheet and it may be 130 degrees Celsius, but you shouldn't click on it. lots of current through the chip so the heating issue is my fault. The sign works as promised, very easy to use and self-explanatory.
