They cost more than double the crappy under $20 ones. But these really work. Don't let go of the cable in the middle of a turn, as happens with misnamed devices. The work runs smoothly in both directions. They cut the wire perfectly. Made in Taiwan.

I bought another brand twice and both were defective. So I decided to pay a little more for a higher quality item. I couldn't believe I ordered this curler this morning and it arrived in about eight hours. I was not disappointed, especially since this device works perfectly. I will update the date after using it more.

I've been using the $150 Matco Twisting Pliers for 6 years and after using them once I was rid of them forever. These pliers are a much better pair as the reverse function remains much easier in your chosen direction than the others. The jaws are the right size and make it easier to grip the wire.

I bought these pliers to replace my old single ended safety wire pliers. Wow what a difference! I use them to screw bolts to our axle bolt and third element to our race truck. Sometimes the position of the bolt requires reverse rotation. I used to twist manually with pliers.... But that's no longer necessary. The pliers work smoothly in both directions. I also like the ratcheting effect when you bring the pivot back. I'm very happy with it!

aircraft electrician / mechanic here. I've had 3 pliers from different manufacturers in the last two years and they all broke. They cost between $40 and $100. I don't use "famous tools" unless it is necessary. The price is outrageous in my opinion. Either way, they're comfortable, reversible, and work great. The only thing I like is the better grip with the bolt locking back. Maybe some rubber. If your hands are greasy, handling the lock can be painful. Regardless, I intend to buy from Ares…
