Optimal 3.0 Down Jacket Review

This is my favorite jacket! Light and warm! I'm 4ft 10", 38 DDD and should have gotten an XXL which gives me enough room to carry around in our crazy Texas weather! Will definitely buy more in other colors

I am very happy with this jacket as with most Ariat products. The fit is smooth but just enough for arm movement while riding. Nothing pulls when I raise my hands to pull up stirrups or put on a bridle. I recommend this comfortable jacket.

Ordered size XL in red. This jacket is amazing! Perfect weight and super soft! Washed easily in washing machine and dryer. There are various scenes with horses on the inner liner. This jacket is way better than Patagonia down jackets.

Very disappointed! This jacket looks rich with a beautiful sheen and falls just below the hips in the personally advertised photos. Looks like a cheap polyester jacket. I am back. Either this is fake or this company needs to step up!

This jacket is a much darker blue than pictured and is VERY thin. The thickness is almost like a flannel shirt, to be honest. There is almost no down filling. If we hadn't waited until the last minute to order the jacket I most likely would have sent it back. It works well over a hoodie or layered dress, but don't expect it to keep you warm. It is almost identical to my North Face thermal jacket and I expected it to be a bit thicker.

I like the warmth of this jacket even though it's light. It's not warm enough for frost but good for chilly nights in the 40's. However, it doesn't wash well. The lint sticks together and looks clumpy after washing. I had to stomp to break the clumps through the fabric and disperse the fluff evenly. This is disappointing because riding clothes have to be washed frequently!
