Good Pocket Stone - Hand and Power Tools

Good Pocket Stone. I wanted to try this type of stone but didn't want to spend a lot. It works well. I used it after hard Arkansas stone. There is a good edge, enough for one shave. I plan to get a full size next time. If you're new to sharpening, try a set of small stones to get a feel for it, and later you can get full-size stones. I would recommend this product for beginners. Dan's whetstones are very beautiful and well sharpened. There are no cracks or chips.

3 years have passed. Still works

This is a decent sharpening stone. I used it in combination with a diamond sharpener. It is very good and sticks together with metal material after use. I use my diamond stone to shave, shape and clear debris. I've used it for serious sharpening (plus sharpening) maybe 30 times in the 3 years I've had it. Still holds up well. There are a few hairline cracks on one side but I think it will last me another 3 years. It is a pretty cheap part in my opinion and I have used it hard and it has done…

TO UPDATE! Decreased quality but still a good stone

I bought some Dans sharpening stones in 2016 and they are amazing. My rating of them is below. I'm saving this part of my review FOR THE EVENT AT THE TIME I HAVE A BAD STONE THIS TIME. I only use old rocks for gun making so now in 2020 I bought another (soft/medium) for knives and an ax while camping. . I don't know if I got a bad one or if the stones are cut differently now, but all the edges on them are bevelled. It's good for sharpening blades or polishing flat surfaces for weapon projects…
