First experiences with LED strips. Overwhelmingly positive experience. 2700K is very warm, I think in my case it would be better to go to 3000K. I think if the light is really indirect then the reflection can soften the sharpness of the whiter color areas. The strip is very narrow which makes placement easier, but when you solder the wiring it can get tight. The distance between the solder joints is about 18 inches, which can be annoying. After that, my installation was glued to the ceiling at…

IMPORTANT: WIRING AND POWER REQUIRED

Sorry for all the capital letters in the title but I had to get your attention as many people expected this lightstrip to be plug and play, it isn't. Requires wiring and connection to the mains; Light control and power supply. If you want it to be dimmable, you need the right controller. Depending on the length of strip you choose, you'll need enough power (they're 8.2ft and 32.8ft, which can be cut into smaller pieces). 8ft and 32ft are not the same in terms of power supply and if you are…

I wanted to upgrade the fluorescent lighting under the cabinet that was already wired to the 3-position AC switch in the kitchen and also wanted to extend an 18" light to all cabinets. I bought an Armacost 421502 kit that came with a dimmable AC driver and bought this additional 8ft lighting section to have enough overall length for my cabinets. It matched perfectly with the lighting that came with this kit , and because of the low voltage it's easy to run thin wiring through and behind…

Suitable for under cabinets but not for larger work

I did a project using a large Armacost transformer and about 28ft of this Armacost 120 LED strip. The project was to replace a long line of fluorescent lights that indirectly lit my contemporary mid-century ceiling. (I used some of this to make some vanity lighting in the laundry room in the past.) I would never try that again. For a base cabinet this works fine as long as you have room to place the transformer! But for this great work, some unexpected problems arose. First, it is very…
