These are staples. I don't know what to tell you. If you need to staple a small stack of paper, this will work. If you plan to attach the ottoman to the ceiling or whatever, you may need something more permanent.

A pack of these is about $3 at your local hardware store. Apparently it's a pack of 5. I ordered 2 for 10 1/4" packs. I received a 1/4" pack and a previously opened 5/16" pack. $24 for two packs!? 1.2 cents per brace here. And no, it's not stainless steel.

I like this size best for stretching canvas. Longer staples are more difficult to use and more difficult to remove. I've been using these staples for over 20 years. Recently, Arrow changed the style of its main weapon from red to chunkier silver. These are more likely to be eaten. Not sure if staplers or staples are the problem hence 4 stars instead of 5.

That's fine. As I put them in my cart I figured I'd either get a 'really' good deal (for 5) or a decent deal for one. The price is actually for "everyone" with a minimum of (5) - which is still a decent deal, but a bit of a surprise. Also, one pack (5) is probably a little too much for what I use it for. I have bought many staples in my time but these are by far the best I have ever used. They're sharp and pointed, made of shiny metal, and they fit my stapler like they're made. Every time I pull the trigger, SO - they fly out and crash into what I'm trying to secure. (Just make sure your finger or face isn't on the receiving side of the stapler!) I ordered a box of JT-21 !/4 inch staples. Today I quickly (first sprocket) received a box of 3/8" staples. Revane says I can't get them back. I suppose I can use them (hence the second star) but I really need 1/4 "I just bought a box of 3/8" staples to replace another (non-returnable) box I bought from Revain. Although it was the correct part number, they didn't fit my Arrow stapler I've had fewer problems buying a used car.
