This is - at most - OK. Three have already fallen from the tree or simply broken off. I work with encaustic wax and find the wax too hard for them. I'm looking for something much more durable.

Given the price and variety of these tools, you should be convinced by the price alone. I use them to sculpt both water and oil based clays and they were quite difficult to work with. They hold up great. A variety of tools allow you to perform a variety of operations, cuts and joints. A light rinse with water cleans them easily.

Bought these pumpkin carving tools. After looking at many reviews of different tools, it seemed that none of them would work, so I took the cheapest ones possible - just in case they didn't work. As other reviewers have said, they can't cut squash so I had to sharpen them. Once sharpened, they worked pretty well. I didn't try subtractive sculpting, just shaved off a thin layer to shape my image. Even after a few rinses in the dishwasher, the metal still adheres well to the wood.

I'm a high school student in ceramics, received as a gift, very satisfied! There are a variety of shapes and they are very durable. There are some imperfections where the metal meets the wood, but there's nothing that polishing can't correct. This is fantastic for beginners and intermediates. Great tool set for sculpting. Works very well with the Rome plasticine clay sculpt I'm working on. With the tools I get a precise cut and really nice edges that define what I'm looking for in my sculpture. I'm carving the eyes into a Halloween type alien mask right now. Haven't used them yet but I can say they are well made. A friend let me use her set in our pottery class a few weeks ago and after a few minutes of completing one of my clay pots I knew I had to get my own set. This is great value for money and I particularly like the fact that they are reversible. Since my husband and I have accumulated many wheel-turning tools, it's nice to have ten tools instead of five.
