Stumps are excellent for blending and smoothing pastels - charcoals - graphite. Tortillions are excellent for rapid - thin blending on pencil - charcoal - pas. Both can be sharpened with sandpaper block. 10 piece set includes six tortillions - 4 stumps in mixed sizes

Great for its purpose, and other things too!

I like these. I recently started drawing in charcoal and remembered using them in my high school art class so I ordered them and was surprised at how much better they work now that I'm an adult and know what I do! Lol actually I use the smallest one for cleaning the keyboard because it's soft but can still get into the cracks. I work in IT so will most likely order more just for that.

Good product!

I don't know much about mixing and such but I like the price and how many came I would say they are worth it. It was very easy for me to blend my drawings and they come in very handy when you want to blend a specific part of the drawing as well as the parts that you can't blend with your finger because it would just mess them up. . My package didn't arrive at first and said the package was lost and all but they were able to replace it and I was totally fine with that until it arrived.

no dirty fingers or dirty paper

These were bought as stocking fillers for my budding young artist. She takes a self-guided drawing class and asked them to help her. She was tired of getting her finger on the old gray artists trying to shade her designs. With clean, pointy tortillas, the shading comes out right where you want it. It's a big help and the different sizes are a real treat. I would recommend gummy meat. Highly recommended. Stupid artists, gray is for tortillons, not fingers. :-)
