Nice light box but uneven brightness

I bought this as a cheap slide viewer, as a preview to prepare slides for digital scanning. It seems bright enough for the job, although the LED light source is under the top of the box and isn't spread across the entire surface, creating uneven lighting. Very bright on top, moderately bright on bottom. There's no intensity adjustment, the display didn't indicate there was one. An honest lightbox for viewing slides for the price.

Pros
  • Same as everything before
Cons
  • Long wait

The surface is unevenly illuminated. Useless

When I first connected it to the network I thought something was wrong with it. The top half was brightly lit while the bottom half was rather dark. I took off the top to see if the bulb had burned out and saw that the lightbox was made that way. The top has a row of tiny LED bulbs that are aligned across the length of the box, but only have enough power to really light up the top half. While the Gagne Porta-trace I purchased wasn't bright enough for what I wanted, it at least had a few rows of

Great investment - has many uses for the genealogist and the artist!

I bought this to make a watercolor map of Tokyo in 1948-1950. It was an incredibly difficult project as it was difficult to find maps of the time with the specific buildings I needed. It's so easy to use and pretty bright which is great for my poor eyes. I love it. I'm making a card for a scrapbook I made for my father who served in the honor guard for General MacArthur in Japan for three years. In 2 years I sorted, sorted and finished about 80 pages of photos, so I bought a HUGE amount of…

Look no further, this box is excellent.

For as long as I can remember I've wanted a lightbox. I had one made for kids when I was little and honestly I think it helped me develop my skills at such a young age. Eventually my parents threw it away because it was taking up so much space. I used to leave it on the living room floor and sit with it all day. Anyway, I've been browsing the internet for a while looking for the perfect light box. With so many varieties and such a wide price range, it's hard to decide. I originally wanted to…

Everything a chela repair could want

I collect animation bangs and sometimes I have to deal with line fading and/or holes in acrylic bangs. However, the black lines are very thin and need to be highlighted to be found and corrected. This mini lightbox is perfect for the task. The fluorescent light inside is bright enough to spot the "bald spots" on the forehead and the entire box stays cool enough to avoid damage to the painted Mylar sheets. I didn't notice a single feature. The box does not use an automatic fluorescent lamp…

Good size, even light, well made

I bought this to make stencils for various projects including portraits. I use Coyote Stencil Shop 3 to create a preliminary stencil from a photo and then trace the outline of that stencil to get an accurate template for cutting. I then copy the cutting template and paint the areas I'm going to cut with a jigsaw so I can see what the finished product will look like before I start. It's a lot easier to be precise when cutting when I use an outline stencil instead of a filled stencil as I can see

Pros
  • Fits me perfectly

  • No instructions
