Reliable decibel: Car radio

Excellent workmanship. Excellent performance, this thing is terribly loud (just what the doctor ordered). for use in PA mode. The frequency response is ideal for speech and siren sound. Fire!

Pros
  • Large selection
Cons
  • Negative available

Loud and Clear: Coaxial Speaker

Install it. Connect power and ground to the battery and the audio input to an output source (e.g. CB). Turn the knob on the speaker all the way up and then slowly down until there's no background noise when you're not speaking. Then the remaining settings can be made at the source (e.g. CB). Works amazing and loud on my straight hemi pipe.

Pros
  • Easy Install
Cons
  • Crumpled Packaging

Loud and Clear on Car Audio

Great speaker for my CB radio in my trailer. I had a lot of fun with it, especially for traffic safety. You should see people looking around for a place where a voice is speaking to them! Sound quality is good, but there are adjustments on the back of the speaker. If you turn it more than 3/4, it will squeak when you press a button and speak. Plus it costs money!

Pros
  • Quick Change
Cons
  • Weight

This speaker is amazing, it actually turned out to be a lot louder than I expected. I installed mine on a large rig under the driver's footrest, even with my rig running you can hear it quite a distance, it's not as loud as the PA system the cops have on cruisers but pretty close. I've survived several rain showers and the water couldn't harm it at all. Very impressive!

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Some issues

Seems loud enough but not sure if it's best used with CB.

Connected to Cobra D19vx CB. I can't turn the speaker volume up more than a hair's breadth from zero. If the volume was between 1 and 10, I get no more than 0.75. Slightly higher and when you turn the mic on you get nothing but noise cancellation. I switched to a noise canceling mic and that worked, so now I can turn the volume up to 1 on the speaker. However, it seems quite noisy. I'll have to see how it sounds compared to the engine noise. I called Speco Technologies and the tech said it…

  • Coaxial speaker

Garbage and non-existent support

An incredible disappointment. The speaker is great and sounds incredibly loud when it's working, but it always seems to have some kind of problem. It's definitely waterproof because I've driven it through water several times (always with the power switch off so I don't fry it) because it's under the bed of my Jeep. However, the power/audio cable is only 2-3 feet long, so good luck connecting to your CD/radio player. You usually splice and solder the wires, but the wires in your cable are about…
