The motherboard's sound controller is defective

There are problems with the sound, there are cracking noises when charging, similar to voltage problems. The sound is randomly distorted. have to restart. Asus says the chip on board has bad sound.

Incredible reliability in the Computers & Accessories category

I have two of these boards and a non-alpha version. Use it with 3990X and 3970X, 256GB 3600MHz RAM. All three boards were reliable, no problems with Windows and Ubuntu. It was one of the best experiences I've had with top Asus boards, which wasn't always the case. I think I want to mention that I'm using liquid cooling with an EK monoblock covering the CPU and VRM. I've never seen a processor temperature hit 60 degrees regardless of load. This all in one does a great job and I highly recommend…

Dead in less than 30 days - just not

Right after I switched my drive to EFI boot, the motherboard stopped sending messages. I've built many systems and only 2 Asus boards have failed. Time for RMA. Another reason not to buy, Asus currently doesn't support components through the phone, only complete business and consumer systems, wearables and handhelds. I think if you build your own you can go without support even if there is a hardware failure. A chatbot will not allow you to chat with a person if the correct order is not…

Best I've ever seen/used

Best motherboard I've ever seen or used. It's just impressive when you first boot up! High stability, upgrades with an armor box, and can take down anything you throw at it! You simply can't go wrong with this AMD TRX40 processor board. Yes, it's pricey, but worth every penny if you're using a high-end ripper like the Ryzen 3970x or 3990x. It's been almost 30 days since my PC was updated with this board among others. I haven't had any problems with Zero so far. it was very stable. The only…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers

It looked good on paper

Let's start with a very good concept, 5m2 of slots and 256 grams of support. OC every 9 yards. very bad and ugly: when booting, i watch the boot sequence on the display on the circuit board, but no image appears on my screen. I triple checked my connections, same (zip), video can't even get the BIOS screen. I removed all but one ram stick. Nothing. My graphics card lights up, but nothing. I call tech support, the guy spoke like he was having a rough night, very quiet and his english was very…

ASUS Nightmare, LEMONS don't make lemonade

First motherboard: Purchased on 12/12/20211. This motherboard has been working fine for 10 days.2. Updated BIOS due to many issues listed in BIOS description.3. MARKED HDD02 and no video after this point.4. Sent for repair via RMA using the original OEM packaging, bubble wrapped and in the original Revain shipping carton.5. ASUS sent a picture of the surface damage on the Revain box and the edge of the board damaged during shipping using the ASUS shipping label and shipper.6. Sent an invoice…

The best sTRX4 board at the time of writing.

A few quick caveats: I'm waiting until at least October to build my system to see what happens with the Threadripper Genesis Peak. It's also possible that my board was damaged in transit due to the 4.5" gap in the shipping carton and not filling that space (blame on the packer, not Asus). So don't expect to hear "Works great!" , but I'll get into some of the more interesting and confusing things that I think are definitely worth knowing M.2 Drive Slots: This board can hold FIVE M.2 drives…

The first board was bad. The second board is great.

The first board I received was bad. It has been suffering from "WHEA Fatal Error" BSOD and random reboots since day one. After 100+ hours of troubleshooting, the BSOD crash turned into an endless BSOD loop. I booted from my Windows 10 installation USB and my C: drive, which was in the M.2_3 connector on the back of the motherboard, was recognized. I formatted another NVMe that I installed in a DIMM.2 expansion card, installed Windows on that drive and have never had a BSOD since. The NVMe I…

Overpriced junk

1. After a few weeks of use, the built-in 10 Gigabit network card died. It stopped negotiating the link no matter what I connected to it. It's made by Aquantia so I wasn't surprised. I didn't want to rip out the circuit board for the RMA, so I installed a 10 Gigabit Intel PCIe NIC in the system. I've never had any of them die, unlike the Aquantia junk I've had a lot of problems with.2. The ASMedia SATA controller is garbage. When you reboot the system, the BIOS does not see any drives attached…
