AT&T's expandable phone is, for the most part, a good and reliable product. I ordered this replacement because the original phone had been worn out for over 4 years where the 2 and 3 buttons just stopped working or needed an extra press to activate. Otherwise, overall sound quality, construction, and ergonomics are good. The display and speaker functions also received high marks.

I've finally found an 8 expandable system that actually works! First at home - both were awful - they had static as soon as you went outside - even right outside the window where the base station is! And it was all down the hill from there. My current older AT&T 2.4 set NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM so I tried the 2.4 system - PROBLEM SOLVED

These phones are perfect for us! We have 6 additional phones on top of the base. You can plug it in anywhere there is a power socket, you just need to plug the main base into a phone socket, the rest you can take anywhere. Cellar, garage, every room. My biggest gripe with these phones is that you might think that a phone that first "looks for the base" when setting it up will also read the phone numbers programmed into the base. You must program each phone individually. That can be annoying…
