I can't believe I fixed my dryer myself!

Our GE dryer started to squeak and we lived with it for a while until recently when we were using it the noise became deafening. With the help of a YouTube video I was able to fix the dryer using these parts and can't believe I got rid of that horrible squeaking noise completely. I'm very satisfied and of course I saved a lot of money because I didn't have a machine mechanic. It seems to me that now I can fix everything! :)

Starting with four stars: Installation was easy - now let's see how long it lasts.

My upper bearing was badly worn. I put it in each picture so you can see the resemblance (perfect for me). Installation is very easy, on my GE dryer model only four screws (two on top, two in front) were required to remove and replace the panel. I also replaced the felt bearing (not pictured) but held onto the belt as my current one was fine. I'll let you know when I think about it after it has proven itself. Upon initial inspection and installation, this appears very promising.

Seems to work well, although there is a bit of creaking. These were not genuine GE parts (that I was aware of). Changed the rear bearing at the same time. The wearstrips aren't color coded like the originals, so you have to look closely at the old (if there's anything left) and the new. I installed everything except for the foam, which I really don't need. The work is not like the videos you see on the internet hahaha. I don't know why but it needed a bit of modification

The sewing feet on top of the original upper drum support bearing I removed required excessive force to disengage. There is no way the tabs on the new one will then extend beyond the dryer frame brackets to hold the bearing in place. I had to slowly file the plastic until the clamps were behind the frame latches. They were still too low to hook the brackets, so I took a pair of parallel jaw pliers and bent the metal frame down to hook the sewing feet. Everything is fine in the world and it…
