    In a direct comparison the quality of the ATP product and the cast and shipping packaging was much better than

    transport but got knocked off by my slightly heavier torque wrench so it cracked - I decided me for a completely different product line. In a side-by-side comparison, the quality of the ATP product and its pouring and shipping packaging was much better than the Dorman product. I installed the ATP product and so far everything is working great. I'm glad I chose this product.

    2001 Buick 3800 Type II Upper Plenum

    I've looked at ALL the intake manifold kits available and this one turned out to be the best choice based on YouTube reviews and mechanics commented here by Revain. This header was definitely thicker overall and had more reinforcement around the mounting holes than the General Motors part number. The only issue I had was the instructions that suggested putting a gasket on the bottom air intake before installing the camera. It made no sense.     bait and turn on Engine Parts

    The gauge clearly states that there is a metal insert installed in the intake. You then use a "stove pipe" in the bottom air intake so you have an air gap and a metal sleeve protects the plastic top air intake. A reception plan is sent without any metal casing. The instructions don't specify a metal grommet and also state that you must make sure you are using the correct size stovepipe or you will MELT the air intake. The whole point of buying this kit is to avoid melting. WTH. All descriptions

    Better engine parts than Dorman

    ATP has a bolt hole on the side of the PCV manifold valve that is not made wide enough so it will tear when tightened and the Felpro gasket will not fit due to this bolt hole. But it's better than Dorman. The Felpro gasket is perfectly aligned with the lower manifold. Unfortunately, it doesn't match the two Dormans and two ATPs we tried. Dorman's gasket did not fit her manifold very well and did not match all of the holes. The ATP gasket fits their manifold much better (the inner holes match!),

    A few parts don't fit properly.

    The air intake seems to be of decent quality but some parts don't fit properly. When installing a new gasketed intake manifold, the gasket appears to fit, but when installed on the lower intake, the holes do not line up properly. The intake manifold needs to be moved slightly to fit the bolts. I didn't believe it, so I bought a MAHLE seal and it fit perfectly. No movement is required to align the screw holes. Also, the o-rings are only for the top of the fuel injector. You will need to buy…

    Good product except for the fuel injector o-rings

    The product worked great although my problem was contrary to what most people said. I had a bottom intake gasket that failed and caused the problem. If you do all the work, be careful and replace the lower intake manifold gasket. GM uses cheap plastic washers that are engineered to resist failure so they can get you in the door and make money off you in their service department. It has been a known defect for many years and they have not done anything to fix it. This part was easy to replace…

    Works great on my 3800!

    Good air intake for about $70 all bolted and aligned as it should. My 2004 Buick Leasbre was slowly starting to eat antifreeze with no visible leaks. I also replaced the lower inlet seals (felpro) and decided to use the felpro upper inlet seals at the same time. The gaskets that came with the air intake looked fine and I'm sure I wouldn't have a problem (kept the gaskets if I ever need to do it again) but used Felpro for peace of mind.     ATP 106001 INTAKE MANIFOLD.

    This unit was developed by others to outperform the Dorman intake manifold as the ATP has a metal bushing for the EGR port and not the plastic of the Dorman and GM original. Unfortunately, installing only the top inlet will not solve your coolant loss problem. The real problem is the lower aluminum air intake, which has plastic spacers between it and the engine heads.
