🔧 Enhance Performance with ATP B-156 Automatic Transmission Filter Kit Review

A perfectly acceptable and affordable transmission filter if your package really does have everything that should be in the box. My first was without a pan seal. The replacement came with everything you need. Can get better quality control of RockAuto orders.

This part didn't fit my 1995 Ford Ranger, the filter outlet pipe is too long preventing the sump from moving. But I cut it to size. Turns out I had to modify it because it's designed for 4WD and the B-158 for the Ford Ranger is 2WD. You really need to read the auto filter notes at the top of the page.

The gasket was folded a bit to fit in the box but after unpacking it lay quite snugly. The third hand function holding the 4 bolts in place works well and makes it easy to line up the washer properly and start the bolts. All sump bolts are properly tightened and fluid is poured, no leaks found.

This filter kit was ordered for a 2009 Ranger 4x4. Upon receipt, the package looked like it had been smashed and crushed multiple times. The gasket was missing and the filter looked questionable so I sent it back and ordered again. The packaging of the second set looked the same, but the contents were fine. I will install and follow up all necessary information. The manufacturer makes a good product but the treatment upon delivery is unforgivable.

Too bad it has to be taken as a whole - I wish I could give the filter more stars and less to everything else. The filter itself makes a high-quality and well-made impression. The box the filter is packed in is not. It's thin and not sealed in a reasonable way and looked like it had been stepped on at least once.
