It will bend and become useless

Totally trash. The metal seems strong, but when you try to use it for its intended purpose, it flexes as if it were rubber. A real waste of my money. It flexed like that when I first used it.

Pros
  • Dope πŸ”₯
Cons
  • Some trouble

Buy this tool now and you won't regret it.

Great tool. I was struggling with one of the front brakes on my car and then ordered this tool. This spreader made the day. I highly recommend this quality tool that is easy to use even for a beginner. Best investment I've ever made in a brake tool.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • No machine gun

Good, it works. on Brake Tools

Works as intended but the spreader blades are not very stiff and will flex a little with use. It helped to add some lube to the threads to make the knob easier to turn. I wouldn't recommend it if you need a multi-purpose caliper expander, but for occasional use by a home mechanic in the shade of trees it's fine.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Not bad

A little ingenuity and it worked

After seeing what was being talked about so much flex and flex, I found a way around it. I placed one of my old spacers between the jaws on the open end without putting pressure on the screw to take up the space it would normally flex and close without it flexing. After that it worked great.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Security

Functional but rough.

Parts fit/Coating not entirely smooth. For something designed to slide, this isn't the best option and will definitely lead to sticking. However, I tightened the screws and heavily lubricated the drive screw and push rod and everything worked much better. Before that, it got stuck when heavily loaded. I'm pretty sure if you try to clamp this thing it's going to snap, but I've done 3 cars with it and it's easier than a C-clamp.

Pros
  • Permanent Coating
Cons
  • Damaged

Made Easy twin piston calipers

I have used these on the rear brakes of a BMW M235i. It works well for two-piston rear brakes and works well for four-piston front brakes if you position it in the center of the caliper. I used a Lisle 29100 Quick Quad Pad Spreader for the front wheels, but it won't fit without removing the calipers. Be sure to remove the brake fluid reservoir cap before pushing the pistons back into place. The build quality of the tool isn't great, but it gets the job done for $15.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Only available in black
