Atwood Jade Pilot Water Heater Assembly (Model 91603) Review

When trying to mount the part there was a broken line because the supplied screw was too big for the mounting hole. The fight with violence led to the rupture of the fuel line. I bought another one, I'll drill a hole for the bracket. Beware.

Easy to install but like all valves it needs to be properly aligned. Use yellow Teflon gas tape on the gas line threads. Pilot lighting above the original valve.

Works as expected. Took a few minutes to get in and do it safely. Pipeline work takes time. After installing it in the RV's water heater, it lit up and worked properly again.

So far so good. I installed it on February 2nd and was so lucky to have a reliable pilot. On Saturday the 6th a grain of debris was glowing on the thermocouple and causing problems. I brushed it off with a wire brush on February 8th. I'll watch that closely.

It would be nice if instructions were included. I hope that works. It was in a plastic bag, not on a cardboard pad as you can see in the picture. I wonder if that was a comeback. So I'm now looking online for installation instructions and hope that it actually works and that there really wasn't a defective return.
