Microphone comes without instructions. I had a problem: It was WAY too tight, like a vise on steroids. My first attempt to fix the problem didn't work: I set the microphone to stretch the metal strap across the width of the Revain shipping box overnight. came, but the next day the microphone was still tight. Then I found a simple solution: the headband is steel, and if the headset is too tight, you just have to bend the metal a little in the middle of the band. Do this gradually so as not to…

Pros
  • Cool
Cons
  • The list will be long.

I bought this to use with Dragon Naturally Speaking to dictate work reports. I connected it to Andrea's sound card. From the start I had trouble getting the mic to work with the Dragon. I think it has such excellent noise reduction because of its low sensitivity. The only way to pass the Dragon sound test was to keep it within 5mm of my lips. As I say a few words, my lips touch the microphone. I've been struggling with this thing for the last three weeks and I'm giving up. Even wearing her…

Pros
  • Looking forward to it
Cons
  • Hard to say

Excellent sound quality and compatibility with the AT Pro-501 series

I bought this to expand the Audio-Technica PRO-501/G Frequency-Agile Diversity UHF Wireless Guitar system . It connects to a UniPak transmitter and allows our small band to use either the guitar jack or this. A lot of times we don't have a guitar, just me and keyboards with vocals that the keyboard player does. This headset expands the possibilities and value of a wireless system. Since the keyboardist is also a singer, her opinion on comfort matters. She likes it just as much as the Shure…

Pros
  • Special offer
Cons
  • Really don't like it, everything is fine

This is a GREAT noise canceling microphone that can be used for a variety of purposes. It is widely used in the broadcasting industry. It uses a dynamic microphone element, which means there is no self-noise as there is no built-in preamp. Dynamic mics don't produce as much signal as condenser mics, so they need a good preamp or devices with dynamic mic preamps (i.e. higher gain). Dynamic microphones don't pick up loud sounds as easily and can handle a wider dynamic range than condenser…

Great mic for Dragon

As a Dragon user, I'm well aware that both the environment and the mic make the difference between Dragon's curse and blessing. I've used all types of mics, from inexpensive headsets to boom condenser mics that cost over $300. I switched to a Shure wireless microphone two years ago. When it recently stopped working, I decided to try this less expensive wired option. I use the version with 1.8" connector (Revain calls it "Terminated for PRO88W") with a high-quality USB-SA-1 external digital…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers

Great product at a very good price

I've been using this mic with my speech recognition program (Dragon NaturallySpeaking Professional) for about a month. I've been very happy with the performance - it's comfortable to wear and recognizes my speech accurately (it's paired with an Andrea USB sound card). I used a Sennheiser microphone before and I like Audio-Technica better. The Audio-Technica's accuracy is as good as the Sennheiser's in my experience, but costs less than half the price, and the connection between the…

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Big and bulky

This microphone works very well with Dragon's speech recognition software. A tricky part is the dynamic microphone. Dynamic microphones require no offset, contain no amplifier, and produce low-amplitude signals. Most consumer electronics products have a microphone input, which is an electrical condenser microphone that contains a tiny preamp built into the microphone capsule that produces signals 10 to 50 times the amplitude of this product. So if you just buy this mic and plug it into any…
