Description of 🎧 Red Audio-Technica VM740ML MicroLine Dual Moving Magnet Stereo Cartridge for Turntables

Dual magnets match the left and right channels in a stereo record groove for outstanding channel separation and extended frequency response. MicroLine stylus traces record grooves with incredible accuracy resulting in nuanced audio reproduction that elliptical and conical styli simply can’t match. Stylus’s multilevel shape also wears better than other styli while reducing the wear on your records. Paratoroidal coils improve generating efficiency. Center shield plate between the left and right channels reduces crosstalk. Die-cast aluminum alloy housing reduces vibration and adds a natural electrical shield. Includes aluminum tapered cantilever and mounting hardware.

It's worth it! in Accessories

I gave 5 stars but my actual rating is 4.5, more on that below. So I've used several different quality cartridges over the years and this was one of the nicest I've come across. First, the Microline needle moves like a champ, digging deep into the grooves to pull out detail the elliptical simply can't reach. Internal groove distortions and sibilance are largely a thing of the past. The pickup also has amazing stereo separation thanks to its dual magnet design. At high frequencies there was a…

Love this cart even though I've tried (a bit) to mount it on my Pro-ject carbon arm. The installation kit supplied with the VM750 contains everything you need to install the trolley. It has a small screwdriver, a brush, three sizes of nuts and bolts, and a set of wires to connect the carriage to the tonearm. What he doesn't have are needle nose pliers. You need this tool, but don't use the garden tongs in the tool kit. You need one with really tiny jaws. I found one at Home Depot. When you open

NEW Audio-Technica VM740ML

The VM740ML is essentially an updated version of the AT440MLa. The key improvements are the aluminum mounting block reserved for the AT150MLx, as well as the reduced sag that allows this cartridge to better match the modern medium-duty tonearms that are the norm in the 21st century. Don't get me wrong, it still has the same Audio-Technica "Home Sound" if you will, but now with a 2 gram tracking force rating, these and the other cartridges from the new VM range are compatible with almost every…

If you want the best, you can't go wrong with this!

MY RECORDINGS: I've been collecting vinyl since the mid 1950's, mostly classical, mostly symphonic, with a bit of experimentation and anything I could find about Nancy Sinatra. I have over 400 records, I have taken care of them and I still play them often. Over the years I've had many different setups and over a dozen previous stereo cartridges including the very first General Electric GC-7 and possibly every Shure ever made. The older ones among you might even remember the name Sonotone. I…
