AUDIOVOX VH200R 12DB Signal Amplifier Review

DO NOT buy anything else. Died 40 days after installation. Sharpened image for local (10 miles) channels. Getting more channels won't help. I had 32 before and 37 after, but the extra 5 were heavily pixelated.

I have an old RCA outdoor antenna that is mounted on the eaves of my second floor house. The signal booster that came with it broke so I replaced it with this one. I was not disappointed. Without a signal booster I got 6 weak channels. With him I have 30 now and they are all viewable.

This plastic box is 141mm (5.55 inch) long. The active board with a low-noise transistor is much smaller. The transistor is not shielded against electromagnetic and radio frequency interference. So I wrapped the entire plastic box with copper tape. The signal is amplified by about 10 dB. The signal quality has improved by approx. 7 dB. Most channels now have 100% signal strength and some 68% signal quality. Good enough.
