Aurifil is the only thread I use!

I'm learning to quilt. I need a thread I can rely on. I make mistakes and I have to rip the seams. Aurifil is lint-free, elastic and has a pleasant sheen. For other projects, such as For example, a laundry bag for an Alaskan cruise ship, the thread must be strong and consistent. Aurifil has never let me down. I pay a little more to get quality I can count on.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Annoyed

"Knot " which is what I expected. :-(

I just opened my reel and noticed a big knot on the side. Definitely not what I would expect from an Aurifil thread. As it has been a few months since my purchase I doubt it that I can send a replacement Or can?Added a modification and a 2nd photo. When adding thread to the spool to get to the knot and remove it, found two extra "piles".

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Not the best

is it real can sew best

I'm not sure if I actually have Aurifil thread. I bought elsewhere and I liked it. The thread I bought here (2 large spools) broke every time I tried to wind my spool with it and I'm not giving up easily, I've tried several times and it broke every time. Also, there must be some special way to find the end to start unwinding from the spool as I used up a lot of this thread before I got to the end I needed. Very disappointed. I hope I remember not to order again.

Defective coil

I bought 2 packs and just opened the first one. The first thing I did was find the start of the thread by removing the bottom washer. After that I noticed that another end of the thread was visible in the middle of the spool. I didn't know what to do, so I just tried to wind the spool onto the end I determined. So the thread was badly wound on the spool and constantly fell under the disk. It was terrible. And then the thread ended because of another weird ending. Pooh. Since I don't see other…

Quality yarn Aurifil

yarn Aurifil has been one of my top 3 brands of yarn for many years and I have many different colors. Aurifil 50WT filament is strong and has a very low lint content. I no longer have local stores that sell Aurifil and I have ventured to find the right color. I was VERY concerned about ordering yarn online as it is very difficult to match the colors to what is shown on screen. I sewed from unbleached muslin and hoped it would fit. It was the perfect match. I didn't need two spools and would…

Hope this solves my fluff problem

Edivtyit: I said I'll be back after using: bought Aurifil thread because I had V-naps with a cheap thread I bought at Wal-Mart . This caused me problems with the sewing machine. I commented on this in a YouTube help video and a woman told me she had the same problem before. She stopped buying $1 floss from Wal-Mart and switched to Aurifil and her problem was solved. I haven't used it yet because I just got it. I hope there is less or no lint around my coil once I start using Aurifil. I took a…
